What does voting in favor of "Question 6" mean?
Voting “Yes” on Question 6 could mean adding taxpayer-funded abortion through all nine months, for any reason, into Nevada’s constitution. Once added, this will be very hard to remove or change.
Will a “No” vote on "Question 6" take away all abortion?
No. This initiative takes it TOO far, allowing abortions through all nine months of pregnancy, for any reason, including abortions on full-term babies who can survive outside of the womb and feel pain. This is happening because the phrase “mother’s health” has been slipped into the amendment; numerous court cases have proven the abortion lobby uses this term to include the mother’s mental health, not just her physical health or life. The initiative also permits abortions on minors without the involvement of their parents, leaving girls vulnerable to abuse.
Will voting against "Question 6" remove miscarriage & ectopic pregnancy care?
Neither miscarriage nor ectopic pregnancies are treated through abortion and therefore are completely unrelated to “Question 6.” Sadly, some political groups use these real, traumatic events to fearmonger voters into supporting something they otherwise would not (abortion up until birth). Necessary healthcare for miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies is already legal in every state and widely available at hospitals and clinics.
Is "Question 6" popular?
No. More than 7 in 10 Americans oppose the legalization of abortion after a preborn child can feel pain, and 6 in 10 Gen Y and Gen Z voters believe human rights begin while a child is still in the womb.
